Written & Directed by: Samuel Leighton-Dore
Starring: Lucas Pittaway, Malcolm Kennard, Richie Finger, Stephanie King & Matt Levett
Showboy is a polished, understated and gripping tale of a young guys struggle to support his father; even if that means doing drag. Without the premise, it would be a shock but with it, it becomes a little confusing (we don’t see that the mother knew). However that being said, the use of inter-cuts and the utilisation of sound truly put you into Julian’s mindset.
Things I Liked: 1 - Use of inter-cuts 2 - Use of sound 3 - Premise 4 - High-quality finish Things I Didn't Like: 1 - Disconnect with premise
