Kudos to Rena Riffel for taking her bit character from Showgirls and crafting a sequel around her but… Showgirls 2 is far from a deserved sequel. It lacks the essence of what made the original a cult classic and shamelessly relies on the original for key scenes but failing to twist or improve upon them. I appreciate that it didn’t have the same level of funding or talent but if it had utilised what it did have and didn’t stretch to 145minutes, it may have been acceptable. There is no justification for its length. I could write a better sequel!
