“José encounters mute young man David, who has no problem in communicating his desire for sex.”

… in 1 word:
Underwhelming.

… in 10 words:
David is beautiful as a premise but lacking in impact.

… in 100 words:
I almost feel saddened attributing the word ‘underwhelming’ and phrase ‘lacking in impact’ to David because the disconnect I feel may be down to the language barrier and translation/lack of. Though there is little dialogue, David communicates through his notepad but not all of this is translated, so it feels as if some information is missing. How he communicates is quite romantic, especially when he spells words on José’s palm. I however never truly understood David’s decisions or motivation, especially with how he comes across during the sex scene. It’s just hard to ignore the feeling that something was missing.

Now go and watch it…
